Plenty of fun to be had in Omena/Northport

Things aren’t slowing down in and around Omena just because it’s fall. Even the warm weather is reluctant to leave. Nationally acclaimed author, Bonnie Jo Campbell, will be at Dog Ears Books in Northport next Friday, Oct. 30 from 4 to 5 p.m. for a book signing and discussion about her new novel, “The Spirits.” Her previous book, “The Waters,” was a Read With Jenna Book Club pick. “The Spirits “is a modern take on “A Christmas Carol,” and is both spooky and heartening.

Speaking of spooky, Halloween activities are also in order this coming week. Join author and shipwreck hunter Ross Richardson for “Haunted Michigan Mysteries – Halloween Edition” at the Leelanau Township Library in Northport on Thursday, October 29 from 6 to 6:30 p.m. This spine-tingling presentation dives deep into Michigan’s most baffling poltergeist activity, real haunted houses, legendary shipwrecks, and mysterious phenomena. Perfect for history buffs and ghost-story lovers alike!

This Saturday is Witches Night Out in Northport. Lots of fun activities including prizes, treats, and shopping begin at 5 p.m.
