Moreno to speak at Conservation District

In the summer of 1999, a young Tomas Moreno took a job at Bel Lago Winery in the vineyard. Still in high school, he was just beginning what would become a lifelong relationship with the land.

Twenty-seven years later, he’s still tending the grapes, learning to see beyond the vines, and finding new ways to care for this place.

What began as a summer job grew into a career shaped by hard work, mentorship, and a deepening understanding of the natural world. Today, Moreno serves as head vineyard manager for Harmony Estate Wineries of Leelanau, overseeing operations across four wineries—Bel Lago, French Valley, Dune Bird, and North Farm.
