Electric edict

To the editor:

Recent news indicates that Governor Whitmer has passed her edict requiring only electric cars in the near future. That’s an excellent way to clear the atmosphere, but I would go along with it only if she gets another bill passed requiring all aircraft taking off or landing on Michigan soil to have electric engines. It’s obvious that with present automotive emission controls, jet airplanes, especially unnecessary private jets, contribute far more emissions than puny automobiles. I think John Kerry and his millionaire friends should reasonably support that proposal.
