Although Leelanau County Road Commission workers and staff are being credited for keeping roads in good condition this winter, elected members of the Road Commission appear to be getting off to a slippery start in 2019. At the commission’s regular meeting this week, Road Commission Chairman Bob Joyce accused a fellow commission member of “bullying and intimidating” the commission’s newly-appointed Superintendent/Manager Dave Priest. *** Students and staff at Leelanau County schools recently enjoyed an unplanned winter vacation thanks to Mother Nature. Northport Public School, Leland Public School, Glen Lake Schools and Suttons Bay Public Schools were all treated to six snow days in a seven-day period, beginning Friday, Jan. 25 and going through Monday. In between, students and staff were dragged back to school facilities for a lone day of school Friday, Feb. 1. 02/07/2024 05:13 PM
