FOIA response could be costly
A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for all records relating to a survey of employees about the climate of workplace in the county building will be costly to produce. Commissioner Melinda Lautner last month requested the county prosecutor provide all records of county employees’ correspondence with personnel committee chair and fellow commissioner Kama Ross.

NPS buys Miller Hill parcels
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is busting at its seams following its latest acquisition, two Miller Hill parcels that would have been seen for miles had they been developed. The Lakeshore purchased the properties, which total 8.66 acres and required what is termed a “minor boundary adjustment,” for $685,000 from the Leelanau Conservancy.

Northgate plan denied again
A moratorium on zoning site plan reviews is being sought in Centerville Township. Township planners voted Monday to request the township board place a sixmonth hold on consideration of proposed developments.
