Douglas and Janet (Schaub) Priest of Suttons Bay celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary May 25.
The couple, who has lived their entire life in Leelanau County, was married May 25, 1974 at Lake Leelanau St. Mary, the Rev. Joseph Wiskerak presided.
They met as teenagers at a dance.
The Priests have run their family painting and wallpapering business for almost 40 years.
Their children, Anna (Tom) Derengowski, Doug (April) Priest and Steffanie (Patrick) Farkas, hosted a private party for family and friends on the weekend of the anniversary.
They have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
