PESHAWBESTOWN- Michael Allen Ferrere, 59, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Peshawbestown, passed away on May 12, 2024 in Walker, MI. Michael was born on December 6, 1964 to Lawrence Ferrere and Mary (nee. McSawby) Roberts in Grand Rapids, MI.

At heart, Michael was a very gentle and sweet person. He had a deep love for his family, especially his niece and nephews, whom he truly cared for and always protected. Michael was thoughtful and quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Michael’s smile and laughter was infectious. If you knew Mike, you could never forget that big laugh of his. He loved music and enjoyed singing and rapping along to songs with his niece. He thought he was the fifth member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. He was hilarious and fun to be around.

Growing up, Michael shared a special bond with his sister Michelle. They were two peas in a pod and always had each other’s backs.

Michael is survived by his siblings, Helen Chippewa, Joseph (Petra) Ferrere, Michelle Stewart, and Lanelle (Curtis Sr.) Vos; his step siblings, Chad Roberts and Shawn (Imo) Roberts; as well as his niece and nephews Kenneth Chippewa, NaTasha (James) Anderson, Jimmie Stewart, Anthony Stewart, and Eric Ferrere.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Ferrere and Mary (nee. McSawby) Roberts, and his nephew Curtis Vos Jr.

Visitation was held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at the Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay, followed by a service at 3 p.m.

Burial took place at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church cemetery in Peshawbestown.
