Dorothy G. Irvine
Dorothy was born May 13, 1941 in Detroit the daughter of Tryon and Elvina (Schmidt) Fedorick. On February 2, 1958 in Detroit she married George Leroy Irvine who preceded her in death on August 29, 2021.
After marrying George in 1958, and having their first 2 children, Bill and Darin, Dorothy and George moved north toTraverseCityin1968. Theretheyhad their “up north” baby, Christopher, before making one final move to Northport in 1978.
Mother, business owner, artist, community volunteer, Dorothy led a full life.The classic mother and grandmother, always cooking, sewing, knitting, and baking. The business owner, both running The Pumphouse with her husband George, and also her own enterprise, The Ceramic House. The artist, winning several awards for her ceramic creations. The community volunteer, serving several years on the Leelanau Memorial Hospital board. Dorothy was also a founding member of the Northport Chamber of Commerce. Dorothy was always on hand volunteering for fish boils, wine festivals, and countless other events. A very busy life, but Dorothy had the dynamic personality to pull it all off.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Bill (Carol) Irvine, Darin (Lynelle) Irvine, Christopher ( Jen) Irvine; three siblings, Diane Hood, Douglas (Alice) Fedorick, Deborah (Mike) Dykstra; eight grandchildren, Nicholas (Laura) Irvine, Sarah Bourquin, McGuire (Erica) Irvine, Alex Thelander, Liam Thelander, Owen Irvine, Daelin Irvine, Haven (Spencer) Chapman; and two great grandchildren, Emma Irvine and Gavin Bourquin.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, George; her parents, and two siblings, Tryon T. Fedorick and Mitchell Fedorick.
Cremation has taken place and private family services have been held.
