Mary L. Piotrowski

1939 ~ 2024

Mary Lou Piotrowski, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024, at her home in Grand Ledge, MI. Born on September 9, 1939, in Dearborn, MI, she was a woman of deep faith and boundless kindness, qualities that illuminated every aspect of her 84 years.

Mary Lou graduated from St. Andrew’s High School in Detroit in 1957. Her life was a symphony of service and joy, harmonized by her active participation in three different choirs and her devotion to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Sutton’s Bay.

An avid gardener, she found solace in the earth’s beauty, nurturing plants and flowers with the same tenderness she showed to her family and friends. Mary Lou’s love for reading and traveling was only surpassed by her passion for volunteering, giving her time generously and touching countless lives.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Piotrowski; her parents, Frank and Martha Dombrowski; her son, Bruce Piotrowski; and her brother, Frank Dombrowski Jr. Her loving spirit lives on through her children, Robert (Marie) Piotrowski, Debbie (Tom) Winkler, Donna (Andy) Agon, and Brian (Susan) Piotrowski; her eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

The family will be holding a private service at a later date.

Mary Lou’s zest for life extended to her enjoyment of fishing and the occasional thrill of going to the casino. Yet, it was the simple pleasure of spending time with her family that truly filled her heart. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Mary Lou Piotrowski had a heart of gold, and will be deeply missed, yet her legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
