Richard J. Podleski

Richard J. Podleski
After graduating from Traverse City High School, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. In the sixties he and his first wife Ann Mills traveled around the world in a VW bus. Upon arriving home, they purchased a 65-acre cherry farm in Williamsburg. He spent the greatest portion of his life renovating this old farmhouse.
A proud veteran, Dick served in the US Army during peacetime. He had a successful career as a sales representative for two major companies before founding his own business, Onza Industries, Inc. In 2012, Dick married Janice Faith Morton. He sold his farm and moved to his wife’s home in Northport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anastasia; his beloved wife, Janice (November 7, 2024); and his brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Barbara (Wilson) Podleski. Dick is survived by his brothers, Leonard (Sharron Kubesh) Podleski and Jerry (Sue Thompson) Podleski; and their children, Jeremiah, Dylan, and Sara (Brumm); two great nephews, River and Zeke; great niece Addi: and his dear friend, Peggy Bell. We are very appreciative of the dedication of Janice’s son Mark Morton who was instrumental in the care of Dick and Janice’s care in their later years. Cremation has taken place, and private family services have been held.
