Margret A Slepicka

Margret was born in Walpole Massachusetts on May 30, 1943. The daughter of the late Andrew and Margret Haan.
On March 20, 1965 she was married to William J. Slepicka in Elberta Michigan and has been a resident of Traverses City since 1963.
Margret graduated from Frankfort High School in 1961 and was an active high school band member. As a resident of Traverse City, she had enrolled in the first nursing program offered at Northwestern Michigan College graduating in 1963.
Starting in 1964 she worked at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City as a registered nurse later transferring into the neonatal care unit; before finally retiring in 2002. During her time at Munson, she had formed close bonds to her fellow coworkers; whom would often keep in touch by having lunch dates or attending other social functions together.
Margret was an active member of the West Bay Covenant Church and enjoyed the fellowship that the church offered. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother; whom also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margret is survived by her husband William J. Slepicka, brother Thomas Haan, sister in-law Harriet C.L. (Kenneth) Muenk, Children: Deborah R. Commins, Douglas (Melissa) Slepicka and David (Tonie) Slepicka. Grand Children: Cameron (Erica) Peterson, Emily 1943 ~ 2025
(Sawyer) Hentschel, Lauren (James) McNamara, Emerson and Ashton Slepicka and Addisyn Slepicka. Great Grandchildren: Desmone and Alexandria Peterson, Jasper, Athena and Archer Hentschel, Christopher Courtade, Charley and Olive Peterson, Penny McNamara.
She was proceeded in passing by her parents and Grandchild Brooklyn Grace Slepicka.
Funeral Services will take place at West Bay Covent Church on Saturday, March 1st. Viewing to be held at 10am, with services following at 11am. Reverend Kent Anderson presiding. Burial will take place at Traverse City Memorial Gardens in the Spring with a future date to be determined. The family would like to thank Dr. Barraza and the Munson Home Health Hospice team of wonderful caring nurses: Emily, Jennifer, Maria, Robin, Justine and Nancy; whom comforted Margret during her final days. We would also like to thank the dedicated caregivers of MediLodge of Grand Traverse, during her 2022 convalescence visit. Special thank you to Stephani and the caring nurses from Great Lakes Home Health Care. Also thanks to the caring staff at Reynolds-Jonhoff Funeral Home for their services.
