Tom Ittner
Tom Ittner

Tom Ittner of Traverse City was called to unravel the final enigma on March 3, 2025, after a 24 year “pas de duex” with heart disease. Tom was born in Ann Arbor on May 19,1945, to Fran and Dr. Martin Ittner. After World War II, the family settled in Midland, Michigan, where Tom never quite grew up. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in architecture and worked in design and construction, mostly in Colorado, the US Virgin Islands and the UP of Michigan. His life long passions were dogs and the outdoors. Tom is survived by his ex-wife and true friend, Barbara of Denver, sisters Kathryn (Fred) Maynard of Marquette, Maria (Kurt) Pregitzer of Traverse City, and brothers Jim (Marian) of Breckenridge, Colorado and Eric (Michele) of Marquette. Tom was particularly fond of his many nieces and nephews and beloved dog Punkin. Tom and his family are very grateful for the excellent care he received from Munson Health, Mayo Clinic, Munson Hospice and Medilodge of Leelanau. In lieu of flowers, treat yourself to an outdoor picnic or adventure. Pax et amor.
