Linda Ruth Joy Hood

It is with great sadness, the family of Linda Ruth Joy Hood informs of her peaceful passing at her home in Dallas, Texas, on November 19, 2024, while surrounded by family, after a 2 year battle with cancer. Linda was born in Royal Oak, Michigan, on March 25, 1960 and attended early schools in Farmington Hills. Later, her family moved to Cedar, Michigan, where she attended schools at Glen Lake and later graduated from Elk Rapids. She attended college at Central Michigan and NMC, after which her career took her to Aspen, Chicago, and eventually to Dallas, Texas, where she happily raised her family and spent the rest of her life. In 1995 she was charmed by Dennis Hood and in 1996 they united in marriage. Her most treasured years were raising her two sons Chase 1960 ~ 2024

and Cole, and was a very proud “Aggie Mom” as both boys graduated from Texas A&M. She had a compassion for rescuing dogs and had many herself over the years. Linda was the daughter of the late Ruth Nelson Joy (1973) and William C Joy (2021). Surviving are husband Dennis, sons Chase and Cole, two brothers, Robert (Colleen) Joy, William N. Joy, and Step Mother Nancy Joy, two stepsisters, Marceline Groulx and Deborah Groulx. There will be a burial service on June 15, 2025, at Maple Grove cemetery in Empire Michigan, at 3 pm. Followed by a Celebration of her Life and a late luncheon at the Friendly Tavern in Empire. Come join us in honoring her. Dress is very casual. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Animal Rescue.
