David was born January 22, 2003 in Traverse City, the son of David Sr. and Carla (Forrester) Fredrickson.

David was a free spirit and when he set his mind to something, David was going to do it. When you said no, David said watch me. He could swim across Wetzel Lake in Mancelona when he was 4 years old. He road dirt bikes when he was 11 years old. David would go outside to play when the sun was out and come back when the sun was setting.

He loved to tinker and work on things. His parents remember David working on cars and cutting every wire on the lawn mower to see if he could put it back together. He would also be the first one out to use the lawn mower to mow the lawn.

David was awesome with his little nieces and nephews, gentle and playful uncle to those little ones. His proudest day was when he learned he was going to be a father. David’s whole world changed and when he Died May 23, 2025

found out he was having a son, it was better than winning the lottery for David.

David is survived by his son, Abel E. Serrano; his father, David (Tracey) Crane Sr., his mother, Carla (Greg) Fredrickson; 11 siblings, Jason Crane, Sarah Holland, Autumn (Jon) Vasher, Samantha (Adam) Myers, Bobbie (Will) Irvin, Casey (Kia) Shawnoskey, Beverly Shawnoskey, Elycea (Nate Demars) Shawnoskey, Grant Fredrickson, Elizabeth Fredrickson, Davis Fredrickson and special friend, Paige Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Lottie McCaslin, and special friend, Danny Hernandez.

A celebration of David’s life will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28th at the Silver Lake Recreation Area on East Silver Lake Road in Traverse City.
