Gloria Ann Plamondon

Gloria Ann Plamondon

1948 ~ 2025

Gloria Ann Plamondon (née LaBreck), born February 25, 1948, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, in Traverse City, Michigan, at the age of 77. Gloria was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of Ellsworth and Florence LaBreck (née Duperon).

The LaBreck family later moved to Lake Leelanau, then settled in Traverse City in 1963. There Gloria met the love of her life, Marlin Plamondon. They were married on October 17, 1964, and together built a beautiful life, celebrating 47 years of marriage. In 1992, Gloria and Marlin moved to Pinedale, Wyoming, and later settled in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2005. After Marlin’s passing, Gloria returned to Traverse City to be closer to her family. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She cherished her time with loved ones, and that love was always returned. She was known for her hospitality, joyful presence, and exceptional cooking. Gloria rarely sat still—she loved walking (often while reading, a skill uniquely hers), gardening, sewing, baking, and visiting with those she cared about. Her faith was central to her life. Gloria was an active member of the Catholic Church and contributed to many parish functions. She especially enjoyed designing floral arrangements for Sunday Mass at St. Wenceslaus Church. Her sense of beauty and attention to detail extended to her work as a gifted upholsterer and to creating warm, welcoming spaces in every home she lived in. Gloria is survived by her children: Daryl (Jennifer) Plamondon, Chris (Wendy) Plamondon, and Jessica (Nicholas) Kenworthy; her siblings: Jane (Nicholas) Kekic, Jim LaBreck, and Jean (Tim) Hagstrom; her grandchildren: Tyler, Kile, Macey, Tyler (Brittany) Anys, Hilary (Chad) Young, Shelby, Alexis Anys, Jennifer, Vivian (Dimitri) Mohtares, Isaac, Adam, and Olivia; her great-granddaughters, Charlotte, Remmi, Isabelle, and foster daughter Renee. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Florence LaBreck, her spouse, Marlin Plamondon, her siblings, Jerry, Florence Avila, and Ellsworth Andrew, Jr., her daughter Kimberly, and son Brian. She was loved deeply and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank both Frankfort Senior Care Home and Munson Healthcare Hospice House for the gentle care and kindness they provided Gloria. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27, at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Church in Lake Leelanau, Michigan. After which Gloria will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Marlin, at St. Mary’s Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow the burial at Almira Township Park (7276 Ole White Dr., Lake Ann, MI), where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor the joy Gloria brought to the world.
