Harry Wiberg

Harry Wiberg

There are just so many things to say about our dad, Harry, it nearly puts us at a loss for words.

He walked so confidently in a friendly world and found the impossible balance of being strong and commanding yet soft and kind. Always here for a good time, he lived several lifetimes of achievement and accolades in his full 73 years earthside. He was truly a pillar of the community and as comfortable in conversation in a boardroom as he was at a gas station.

His hobbies were broad, deep and at times endless…mountaineering, music, fishing, biking, cross country and downhill skiing, hiking, golfing, sailing, sports, sports and more sports (his blood ran green for both MSU and the Packers). He even managed to squeeze in a marathon and decades of participation in the VASA. But his true talent was doing all of these things in the spirit of bringing people together. He was a gatherer, a community-builder and put such heart into connecting others - both people he loved and people who needed to be loved.

He moved through life with such ease and joy that made it impossible not to believe that he held the whole world together. And he certainly did in our family and his partnership with our mom, Susan - his June 25, 1951 - June 22, 2025

wife of 51 years, amplified everything good and made it profoundly stronger. The perfect complements and best of friends that somehow traveled the world, built a home, a family and an abundant life filled with warmth, joy and endless giving. Truly endless.

Our dad lived fullypresent and in a deep state of gratitude, saying a tiring amount of times that his life was truly an “embarrassment of riches.” As we reflect, we remember his unwavering truths… Love fully, Give freely, endlessly and quietly, Be kind loudly, Live a life in service of others, Return to nature always and often, HAVE FUN and smile, And never forget to tip the musician.

We move forward knowing he will always show us the way.

We invite you to join us in cheers and a casual celebration of his life on Monday 7/21 from 2-5pm at the Pegasus Barn at Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to TART Trails or Friends of the Sleeping Bear Dunes.
