James Edward Patterson, 70 of Leelanau County, passed away, Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at his home on Little Traverse Lake with his daughters by his side.

Born October 17, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI was the son of Edward Earl and Mary Louise Patterson.

James was raised in and loved Leelanau County.

He enjoyed all things outdoors from hunting and fishing to walking the beaches and woods. He grew his business, Good Harbor Services, and was an EMT/firefighter with the Glen Arbor Fire Department.

He is survived by his daughters Aimee (Justin) Hennessy, Rebecca Patterson and Katherine Patterson; his granddaughters Grace and Ella Hennessy; his sisters Patricia Augustine and Sally Salisbury and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Judy Duba, Dianne Lixey, and John Patterson; his niece Robin Rickert and his nephews Brian Buckler and Nathan Lixey.

A celebration of James’ life will be held in the summer of 2024.
