Jeanne Marie Maue

Jeanne Marie Maue

Jeanne Marie Maue of Copemish, MI completed her earthly journey peacefully and arrived in heaven on August 4,2025.

She was born in Traverse City, MI on October 28, 1955 to Eleanor and Lloyd Spears. She married her best friend Clayton Maue at All Faiths Chapel by Father Fred in 1977. Together they established a loving family and later a very respectable business, Clayton’s Heating Service while raising two fine young boys.

She attended Northport Public Schools and graduated from Petoskey High School in 1974. After graduating as a paralegal at Northwestern Michigan College, she then went on to earn her B.A. for Counseling and Social Studies through Spring Arbor University. This provided her with the skills to work for the Benzie County Prosecutor’s Office as an Office Manager and Legal Assistant.

Jeanne was very proud of the children that she had homeschooled for several years to help prepare them for their future, even taking them for a “field trip” to Washington, DC.

Jeanne enjoyed her “Wide Open Spaces” where she lived with her loving furry friend Kiwi.

She was known to be a “helper” with her son’s sporting events even though she never played sports herself, she was there cheering them on.

1955 ~ 2025

Jeanne is survived by her sons Jonathan (Tara) Maue and Lucas Maue. Her Grandchildren (who affectionately called her, Mimi) are Jacob, Lennon, Stella, and Logan.

Siblings Robert (Relli) Spears, Jerry (Five-O) Spears, Richard (Marv) Spears, Kathy (John) Priest, Brenda Oldebekking, and Linda (Posie) (J.D.) Spears. Along with many nieces and nephews. The whole gang in Petoskey, and Aunt Mary, Uncle Ron, and Uncle Jim from the Farm.

Her love of reading Nancy Drew at a young age helped her to become the internet detective for all of her family and friends. She most recently became the most avid fan of Bob Barker of “The Price Is Right” watching on Pluto TV.

Growing up the third oldest of seven kids and under much duress, Jeanne was chief babysitter and cook….and they are all still here to talk about it!

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton Maue, and mother, Eleanor “E” Spears.
