NORTHPORT – Robert Alexander Brenner, born December 27, 1931, lived in Northport, MI for over forty years. Robert passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 93.

Bob graduated from Benton Harbor High School then attended Ferris State University.

He worked at Whirlpool Corporation as a mechanical engineer his entire career. He earned 27 patents with three pending on various appliances. He was highly respected, a team player, and known as the “big brother”.

Bob met the love of his life, Betty Robandt, when she had to sit on his lap while riding home from a movie theatre in Benton Harbor. They were married on October 4, 1952. Together they built two houses, their first home in St. Joseph, and their retirement home in Northport. They also built two cabins together. They would have celebrated their 73rd anniversary this year. Bob loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and football Died July 19, 2025

enthusiast. He loved his trips to Canada with family and friends, especially to go fishing at Kaby Lodge. Football was his favorite sport. He loved cheering on the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and the Detroit Lions. He was a true fan through and through!

He is survived by his wife Betty and four children, Wayne (Pamela) Brenner, Carl (Michelle) Brenner, Paul Brenner, and Lori (Bill) Sheldon; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Cremation has taken place and private family services have been held.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
