Michael J. Lober

Michael J. Lober
Mike was born on June 15, 1954 in Toledo, OH to the late Joseph Earl and Eleanor Louise (Krull) Lober. He graduated from Sylvania High School in 1972.
Mike moved to northern Michigan in the 70’s and attended Northwestern Michigan College where he completed an Associate Degree in Design & Machine Tool. He found work at R.M. Young Company and later at Ace Welding & Machine. He was a gifted machinist and truly became a jack of all trades. He could fix just about anything and was very mechanically inclined. In his younger years he was a sound man for the Talisman Band and followed the Jankowski Boys around to all their gigs. He loved music so it was a great fit for him. He was also a Deadhead through and through and was fortunate to see the Grateful Dead shows on multiple occasions.
Although he lived a hard life, he was very proud of the last 12 years of sobriety. He became a State Certified Peer Recovery Coach and worked with Addiction Treatment Services and Best Medical Services where he was able to help many along their journey with addiction.
There were a few things that brought him great joy in life: his family, helping others, 1954 ~ 2025
leading various Bible study groups, music, watching movies on his DVD and NASCAR. Jeff Gordon was a favorite and he would often call his brother Bob and other family members to talk about the races. Most knew not to plan anything during race time!
Mike will be remembered for always making things fun and enjoying his conversations with his family, friends and neighbors on 13th Street. He was a very gentle and kind soul and will be greatly missed.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, sister Beverly Dye, niece Michelle and nephew Dave Roelofs.
He is survived by his brothers John (Margo Million), Bob (Judy), brotherin- law Dave Dye, Nieces Christine Rader, Wendy Roelofs, Lisa (Mark) Ashley, Nephew and Godson Michael (Julie) Lober, Nephew Joe ( Jammie) Lober and many other beloved family members.
