Stanley J. Bigjoe, 85, formerly of Peshawbestown, died September 5, 2025 in Belding, Michigan.

Stanley was born April 1, 1940 in Lake City the son of Fred and Rose (Pontiac) Bigjoe.

He spent many years living in Cadillac, Grand Rapids, Mt. Pleasant and Howard City. Stanley enjoyed casinos, pow wows, riding around, going out to eat and watching old movies.

Stanley is survived by three children, Jacqueline Daniels, David Merrill Sr., Bethel Merrill; five siblings, Willard Bigjoe, Douglas Bigjoe, Barbara John, Lyle Pontiac, Patricia Guess and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay. The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Northport Indian Mission Church. Burial in Hillcrest Cemetery, Omena will follow. Pastor Wava Hofmann will officiate.
