Alan L. Forrester
Alan was born on July 6, 1954, in Muskegon, the son of Edson “Boots” and Marie (Morris) Forrester. He was a welder by trade for many years, known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.
Alan was a man who loved the outdoors. He found peace and purpose in hunting and fishing, often feeding his family with the venison he proudly harvested. In his later years, he took up leatherwork— creating wallets, purses, belts, and even a crossbow case. His favorite design to carve was a rose, a symbol of both strength and beauty that reflected his own nature. He also enjoyed diamond art, showcasing his precision and patience in every piece he completed.
Alan will be remembered as a hardworking, creative, and loving man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures and the company 1954 ~ 2025
of family.
He is survived by his children, Carla (Greg) Fredrickson, Carl Grant, Jeffrey A. Forrester, and Dorothy ( Jason) Jaquish; his siblings, Tina Forrester and Jeffrey (Tracy) Forrester; his brother-in-law, Art Clous; his grandchildren, Casey (Kia) Shawnoskey, Beverly Shawnoskey, Elycea Shawnoskey, Abigail Jaquish, and Isabelle Jaquish; and his great-grandchildren, Hope, Miracle, Khaleesi, Marilyn, and Abel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Walter Forrester, Anthony “Tony” Forrester, and Barbara Clous; and his grandson, David Brian Crane Jr.
A celebration of Alan’s life will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, at Ellen’s Corner Hall, 6068 W. M-115, Mesick, MI 49668.
