Effie A. Anderson

Effie was born October 12, 1941 in Cadillac, Michigan, the daughter of Dale and Bessie (Trowbridge) Green. On June 8, 1962 she married Robert T. Anderson of Suttons Bay at Immanuel Lutheran Church, who preceded her in death on December 13, 2019.
Effie was a strong and faithful woman who lived her life with grace, generosity and quiet determination. She was giving and caring by nature and loved deeply— especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, who adored her. She found joy in caring for her family in countless ways and was still hemming pants for them even until her final days.
She played piano and was a skilled seamstress, Effie’s hands were rarely still. She was talented in knitting, crocheting, and cross stitching and quilting and her creations became cherished family heirlooms. Each of her grandchildren had their own handmade Christmas stocking lovingly crafted by her, and she even made extra ones in anticipation of future greatgrandchildren. She also loved ceramics and filled her homes with her beautifully crafted lamps, nativity scenes, Christmas trees and decorations that reflected her love for the season and her faith.
Effie grew up as the eldest of her siblings on her family’s berry farm in Mesick where she learned the value of hard work and the sweetness of simple things. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, fruits and vegetables at their home in Suttons Bay. She found joy in canning and freezing 1941 ~ 2025
