Patrick J. Fleis

Patrick J. Fleis

Patrick James Fleis, 52, was born into eternal life on November 5, 2025, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife Kristine (née Sye) of 17 years; and his children, Anthony and Braden.

Forever cherished and remembered by his siblings, Angela (David) Brzeczkowski, Antoinette Gawin, Raymond (Carolyn) Fleis and Carolyn (Aaron) Keigley.

His memory lives on with multiple nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Anthony, his mother, Patricia, grandparents Tom and Agnes Fleis and Raymond and Mary Barczak, and Remy Gawin.

He was born on March 27, 1973, in Traverse City, Michigan and grew up Cedar, Michigan. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic school and Glen Lake High School where he was valedictorian. He attended the University of Michigan where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduating from U of M, he joined the Peace Corps and lived in Ghana, Africa where he taught grade school science and math. After the Peace Corps, he attended Marquette University where he obtained a Law Degree. Upon graduating from Law School, he became an intellectual property attorney at the Law Firm of Ryan Kromholz and Manion where he eventually became a partner of the firm.

His greatest joy came from his family. He cherished his wife Kristine and their two sons, Anthony and Braden, with all of his heart. His world revolved around everything family. He supported his boys in all their endeavors, as a school advisory board member, volunteering as athletic director at their school, and assisting with coaching their baseball teams. He would never miss a sports game unless it was a divide and conquer split with Kristine. He was a sports fanatic and passionately supported the Michigan Wolverines and Marquette along with having season ticket packages for Milwaukee Brewers 1973 ~ 2025

and Milwaukee Wave. He enjoyed many trips to Lambeau Field with family and friends, but true to his heart were his Detroit Lions. Evening campfires and late-night swims were frequent summertime family events. He was an incredible cook, a grill master, and smoked his own meats. The highlight of every summer was his and Kristine’s annual pig roast, which was an event not to be missed.

Patrick was a man of faith, and he took an active role in their parish St. Augustine of Hippo where he was a parish council member for years and most recently church trustee. He also helped support church celebrations by performing multiple pig roasts at the church.

Patrick had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He was often spending his spare time researching topics of interest or reading books. He enjoyed doing the NY Times crossword puzzle, playing scrabble and enjoyed playing Euchre. You can be sure he is playing Euchre in heaven with his family.

Patrick was the first to volunteer and did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong values and was well liked by everyone, mostly due to his positive energy and his sense of humor. Patrick had incredible patience and always made time to help others.

Patrick will be missed greatly by many family, friends and colleagues.
