Peshawbestown – Janice Ann Petoskey, 59, of Detroit, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Janice was born on April 3, 1966, in Port Huron, the daughter of Sylvester Petoskey and Louise Chippewa.

Janice is survived by her love, Zerdine Hagar; her sons, Zerdine Hagar “Nico” Jr. and Marcus Hagar; her siblings, Joan Petoskey, Glenda Petoskey, Donna Swallows, Wyman Chippewa, Billy Petoskey, Glen Petoskey, Diana Taula, Joyce Petoskey, and Greg Petoskey. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Robert Petoskey, Gary Chippewa, Brenda Whiteye, Stevie Petoskey, Karen Nichols, Terrance Petoskey, Leona May, and Eliza Burns.

The visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 18th at the Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with a one hour visitation prior on Friday, December 19th at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Peshawbestown. Burial will take place in St. Kateri Cemetery in the spring.
