Eric Bruce Henion I

He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on May 9, 1945, to Irma K. and Charles F. Henion.
He attended Suttons Bay schools, where he excelled at basketball, and played the french horn in the band.
After graduation, he served in the Coast Guard, later marching in the Cherry Festival as part of the Bugle Core.
He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 25 years.
He enjoyed researching Henion genealogy, tracing family roots back to 1682, and also liked collecting and polishing rocks. He liked to tinker and repair anything Died December 12, 2025 broken, many appreciated his willingness to help them out.
He was well known for his handle bar mustache. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, serving in several capacities.
He leaves behind three sisters, Nancy Henion, Leann Johnson and Jill Petersen, two daughters, Melissa Farrar & Sommer Henion, stepdaughter Kelli Kiessel, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric B. Henion 11, stepdaughter, Melissa Jenkins and his parents.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagles club in Traverse City, on February 7 at 2 p.m.
