PESHAWBESTOWN – Tashina Marie Anderson, 30, of Peshawbestown passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Traverse City.

Tashina was born on November 20, 1995, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Charles “Charlie” Henry Anderson and Billie Jean Sams. She was the second of five children and a fiercely proud tribal member. A very beautiful Native woman, Tashina loved her culture deeply. You could see that pride in every step she took at pow wows—graceful, confident, and radiant. She was also a highly trained boxer with one hell of a right hook. Tashina carried herself with such elegance that you’d never expect her strength, but she could knock any man flat if she needed to. She lived her life taking no nonsense from anyone and never hesitated to call things exactly as she saw them.

When Tashina walked into a room, her smile lit it up instantly—bright, warm, and unmistakable from a mile away. For all her many gifts, her greatest accomplishments were her two sons, Sire Neonni Anderson and Savior Jumbo Anderson. She loved her boys to pieces; they were her whole world and the center of everything she did. Family meant everything to Tashina. She was a Daddy’s girl through and through, yet she never strayed far from her mama’s Died January 21, 2026

side. She loved her siblings and cousins fiercely—when Tashina loved you, she loved you completely. She was truly one of a kind.

Tashina is survived by her parents; her children; her siblings, Charles Albert Anderson, Dawnisha Lucille Anderson, Charlie Rae Anderson (Andre Raphael), Charles “Son” Anderson Jr., and Tommy Charles Anderson; her nieces, Adelina Lucille Anderson and Elsie Jean Anderson; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa Jumbo, her Aunt Charlotte, and her cousins Adrian Age Day and Aaron “Scarebiz” Bush.

Visitation was held from Tuesday, January 27th until the morning before the service at her home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 29th with visitation starting at 12 PM at the Strongheart Center in Peshawbestown. A luncheon will follow the service. Pastor Delfred “Bunny” Whitecrow will officiate. Please share condolences and memories with Tashina’s family at www.martinson. info.
