Sylvia Bullinger, 84, of Farmington Hills, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Sylvia was born on February 12, 1941 in Detroit. She was strong and proud of her Polish and Sicilian heritage, an only child of wonderful parents, Mario and Sophie Balsamo. She graduated from Cody High School in 1959 and still kept in touch with her ‘Cody friends’ til this day. She met Bob at the young age of 13. They dated later as teens and married in 1961. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage together this August. Sylvia was a devoted Homemaker, Mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a huge animal lover. She even worked for a brief time at a veterinary clinic to spend more time with animals. Sylvia enjoyed her time at the family cottage on Grand Traverse Bay, had a fantastic sense of humor and made everyone laugh. She was fun, vivacious, had a beautiful smile, and has touched so many lives that to know her was to love her.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Bullinger, her daughters Beth Bullinger and Katie (Antoine) Przekop, and her Grandsons Joe and Nicholas Trowern. She was preceded in death by her daughter Colleen (Peter) Trowern, who passed in January of 2024 and her son Jeff Bullinger who passed in May of 1991.

Sylvia’s funeral mass was held at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Farmington on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sylvia’s name may be made to the Michigan Humane Society in her honor.
