Elmwood Twp. - Todd Anthony Flees, 49, of Elmwood Township, departed this life on February 13, 2024, at Munson Medical Center with his family and friends by his side. Todd was born on November 15, 1974, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Joseph and Betty Sue (Church) Flees.

Todd, known by many as “Vinnie”, was witty and funny, whether he was slinging drinks at the Riv or shooting pool at the Bird, he was known to make things competitive. He was cocky and the king of sh*t talk at times but in most cases could back it up. “Let’s Do This” was his go to phrase when getting things done.

He had a love for music and was often found in a circle of Djembe drummers or playing in a band on his drum set. He also, had a passion for skiing, which led him to a career in the ski industry. He worked at the Sugarloaf Bavarian Village and later became a local Volkl Marker sales rep..

Looking for adventure in the outdoor’s in biking, motorcycling, skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling, Todd hopped into his purple Ford Ranger and headed out west. During his journey out west, continuing as a rep. for Volkl Marker, he captured the beauty of many National Parks, embracing each opportunity to connect with nature, until residing in “Ski Town” Park City, UT.

Todd’s adventurous spirit and love for exploration extended to his culinary endeavors. He was a talented cook and grill master, that loved to share his creations with family and friends.

Todd had a deep appreciation for classic and modern cars. He was often seen driving his family built GTO with the top down in the summers. He honed his knowledge of cars in serving car dealerships across the state as an Account Executive.

Todd’s boundless enthusiasm for life, his adventurous spirit, and his love for his family, especially every moment he had with his beloved daughter, Harper, will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Harper Flees; his devoted brother, Shawn (Sue) Flees; and his beloved nephew and niece, Eyan and Cameron Flees. Todd was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Betty Sue Flees.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on March 1, 2024 at the Martinson Funeral Home of Suttons Bay.

The funeral service will be held at 2pm on March 2, 2024 with the family greeting friends from 12-2 also at the Martinson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Grindstuen Norwegian Cemetery following the service.
