Kathleen Elaine “Kathy” Klumpp

CEDAR- Kathleen Elaine “Kathy” Klumpp, 70, passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born January 29, 1956, in Monroe, Michigan, to August and Elaine Gasper.
On June 6, 1981, she married Ted Klumpp in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Together they shared 44 years of marriage. In 1998, they made their home in Cedar, Michigan.
Kathy was endlessly creative and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and many other artistic pursuits. Her sewing room, filled with colorful fabrics and patterns, reflected her vibrant spirit and love of making things by hand. She also loved camping and traveling the world, always embracing new places and experiences.
Known for her bold personality, colorful style, and wonderful sense of humor, Kathy lived life on her own terms and brought warmth and laughter to those around her. She had a lifelong love of animals and opened her home to many dogs and cats over the years.
Diagnosed with diabetes at age 25, Kathy faced more than four decades of health challenges with strength and determination. She is survived by her husband, Ted Klumpp; her children, Sandy Gasper, Koren (Jeremy Emmorey) Klumpp, and K.C. (Jackie Hein) Klumpp; her grandchildren, August Court, Jasper Court, Camryn Klumpp, Shadley Emmorey, Emma Emmorey, Hudson Emmorey, and Jase Emmorey; and many nieces, nephews, greatnieces, and great-nephews whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her father, August Gasper, and her parentsin- law, Robert and Renelda Klumpp.
Kathy will be remembered for her creativity, humor, and the fearless way she lived life on her own terms.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Martinson Funeral Home, 115 N. St. Joseph Street, Suttons Bay. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow at the Friendship Community Center in Suttons Bay.
