James was united in marriage to Ms. Amber C. Lowes on April 19, 1991 in Cadillac, Michigan.

Mr. Mikowski had worked many years with Hutchinson’s Excavating and Septic of Lake City, Michigan and Seismic. Jay enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, trapping, attending car shows and air shows.

Surviving Jay is his loving wife and best friend, Amber C. Mikowski of Manton, one daughter, Tamara Mikowski of Lebanon, Indiana, five grandchildren; Calaeyn Mikowski-Rahn, Tayah Mikowski-Rahn, Anthony Mikowski-Rahn, Threastyn Mikowski and Colin Mikowski, one great-grandchild, Bexley Oberland, six sisters; Andrea, Rhonda, Tuesday, Tricia, Jill and Tiffany, one brother, Timothy Jr., plus many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Mr. Mikowski was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Ashley Mikowski.

Celebration of Life services honoring Jay will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from Lake City Christian Reformed Church, 1657 S. Morey Road, Lake City, Michigan, 49651.
