NORTHPORT- Anita Arline Myers, 88 of Northport, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Anita was born in Detroit on December 15, 1937, she grew up in St. Louis, MI and lived many years in the Lansing area.

Anita was a school secretary and State of Michigan employee, retiring in 1992 as a small cities specialist with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.

In retirement in Northport, MI, she served many years as president of the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Foundation and later as membership chair.

She and Don sailed the Great Lakes and chartered in New Zealand, Florida, and the Virgin Islands. They traveled extensively in the United States and internationally.

Anita was active in the Northport Performing Arts Association and played snare drum in the Northport Community Band.

She greatly enjoyed partying with old friends and new friends made in Northport and the Northport Marina.

She is survived by her husband Don; one daughter, Donita Brady, of Breckenridge, MI; her stepchildren, Scott (Micha), Daniel (Bethany), Thomas, Dana Thibault (Willie), and David (Naomi). She also loved her Atkins stepchildren, and many beloved grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn (Ken) Hill of Punta Gorda, FL.
