LAKE LEELANAUAnnette Louise Kleinschmit, 55, of Lake Leelanau passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Munson Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Annette was born on December 24, 1970, in Berwyn, Illinois, the daughter of Willard and Rose Mary (Mikowski) Houdek. She graduated from Leland High School in 1989 and went on to build a life centered around family, hard work, and adventure.
Annette loved to travel and embraced opportunities to see the world. Over the years she visited places such as Brazil, Puerto Rico, Greece, Las Vegas, and Florida, creating memories that she cherished deeply.
More than anything, Annette was a proud mother and grandmother. She loved her two sons and adored her granddaughter, who brought her tremendous joy.
Professionally, Annette worked for many years with the 4-H Extension office and in the agriculture sector. She also gained experience in event planning and office management. Later in life, she started her own e-Office business, providing accounting and bookkeeping services to clients who valued her reliability and attention to detail.
Annette is survived by her eldest son Devon Kleinschmit and his wife Kaylin, along with their daughter Rya Lynn; Her youngest son, Luke Kleinschmit; Her parents, Willard and Rose Mary Houdek; and her siblings, Bill Houdek and Cyndy Houdek and her significant other, Ryan Mueller; Her nieces and nephews, Paige, Zander, Haylee Kohler and Willow Houdek.
A celebration of Annette’s life will be announced at a later date.
