She was a Mother, Step-Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. There are also an incredible amount of the younger generation who knew her as Great Auntie Tisha.

She also leaves behind her partner of twenty years, Wayne Beehler.

Pat passed away peacefully early July 21, 2026 at the age of 90 years old at Hathaway Hills in Greenville, MI.

She was born December 19th 1935 in the village of Empire Michigan, in the same home her mother, Celeste Taghon was born in 1906 on Niagara Street.

She is survived by daughter, Sherry Louise Spreng Gabrilska, (Mark Gabrilska) of Yuma, AZ and Step-daughter Sharon Spreng Wilson from the State of Washington. Grand Children include John Edward Rhine of Oceanside, CA and Zachary Drew Soto of Portland, OR. Pat is also survived by step-grandchildren, David Alan, Marie Sara, Donald Earl and Dean Loggins from State of Washington. She also enjoyed being a great-grandmother to Elliot and Oliver. Pat is also survived by her sister, Sandy Dhuyvetter of Suttons Bay.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eldon Spreng, her daughter Christine Marie Spreng, and her grandson, Marco Timothy Soto and two sisters, Joan Louise Dhuyvetter Harriger and Marcia Marie Dhuyvetter DeBerard.

She is the 3rd of 4 daughters to parents, 1935 ~ 2026

Pat grew up in the village of Empire, in a household where Flemish was her parents first language and her two big sisters showered her with their love and their knowledge of life. In her early years she was also surrounded by her big Belgian family in the village until her parents decided to move to Southern California when she was 14 years old. Her father, a cabinet maker from Belgium along with her mom bought acres of orange groves in Upland/Ontario area and subdivided the property into homes. She attended Chaffey High School before settling down to raise her young family. She was married to Ed for over 40 years before he passed away in 1997. During her marriage, she prepared taxes during the tax season and enjoyed being a stayat- home mom.

An avid golfer, Tisha enjoyed the game immensely, especially with Wayne in the later years. They golfed while on many trips between their beloved Empire and Southern CA.

Pat also volunteered at the Empire Heritage Museum and as a tax preparer for AARP for over 15 years, preparing tax forms for thousands at no cost. A devout Catholic and member of St. Philip Neri’s Church in Empire, Pat was able to receive the Last Rites before passing.

There will be a funeral Mass Aug 20th to celebrate Pat, “Tisha’s” life, rosary at 10 am and funeral mass at 11 am. Please join us. Pat requested in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to St. Philips in Empire.
