Lake Leelanau – Clinton Clark Craker, 84 of Lake Leelanau passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at home with family at his side.
Clint was born June 7, 1942 in Northport, the Son of George Clark Craker and Laverne (Brown) Craker. He graduated from Northport High School in 1960 and enlisted in the US Navy, where he became a Gunner’s mate. He was aboard ship and on his way to Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis and US Naval Blockade. In 1964, he married his former wife, and together they became parents to five children. In 1965, he attended the Flint Institute of Barbering, and in 1970, he attended cosmetology school in Traverse City. For 51 years he owned and operated Shear Pleasure and Beauty Shop in Northport. On February 16, 1990, Clint married Sally (Brower) Schwarz at the Community United Methodist Church. Together, they worked and traveled for many years.
Clinton is survived by his wife Sally Swarz-Craker; his children Alan (Vicki) Craker, Jillene (John) Craker-Dalley, Steve (Heather) Craker, Jennifer (Eric Wikman) Craker, and Bradley (Heather) Craker; his step-children Steven (Pilar Galnares) Schwarz, and Sara (Bruce) Maleski; his siblings Jay Craker, and Gerry (Bobbi) Craker; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Zona ( Jim) Mebert, and Vernon (Ruth) Craker; his step-son Nathan Schwarz; and his sister-in-law Dorothy “Dottie” Craker.
