Scott VanNorwick, age 74, of Honor, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026. Scott was born on November 11, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Marilyn VanNorwick.

Scott’s memory will be cherished by his best friend and loving wife, Cathy, along with his loyal companion Bella. Scott and Cathy had been together for almost 50 years.

He is also survived by siblings, Tammy, Steve, Shenan, Amy and Janie; beloved brother-in-law of Joe (Diane) Gatton, and Paul Gatton; and sister-in-law Ann Marie Gatton; and a marvelous uncle to numerous nieces and nephews and devoted friend to many.

Scott will be remembered for his amazing, heartfelt laugh. Scott loved music, the great outdoors and animals, gardener, was an athlete, Chimney Sweep and lastly Mariner. He chose maritime life for his love of the water. He made many mariner friends.

He will be missed by all as he has sailed into the sunset.
