Patricia Kay Lumley
Patricia Kay Lumley

Throughout her life, Pat took care of others before herself. Whether she was single handedly raising her children; working at the State Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Pontiac, Lapeer, or Caro; providing addiction counseling services; or working at Maple Valley Nursing Home, Pat always made sure there was laughter and that you were loved, seen, and okay. Her pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, hard work, and 43 years of sobriety. Her happiest days were spent at the family cabin on Perry Lake in Fairview watching the water, wildflowers and birds, enjoying the changing seasons, reading books, and watching PBS.
In addition to numerous family and friends, Pat will be deeply missed by her daughter, Traci Cruz of Empire, Michigan, and her son, Marc Lamiman of Ortonville, Michigan; son-in-law, Rico Cruz; daughterin- law, Amy Lamiman; granddaughters, Alli Cruz, Lena Cruz, and Audrey Lamiman; and grandson, Pierce Lamiman. Also grieving her passing are her brother, Ronald Lumley, and his wife, Iva Jean; her sister, Wendi Middleton, and her husband, Larry; her sister-in-law, Sue Lumley; and dear lifelong friends/family: Alice, Diane, Debbie, Marion, and Rosemary.
Pat was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Larry and Leonard Lumley; sister-in-law, Charlotte ‘Chuckie’ Lumley; nephew, Alan Lumley; grandson-in-law, Joel Wigstadt; dear friends, Donna and Nancy; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her faithful basset hound ‘son’, Otis.
A private celebration of life will be held later this year. For those wishing to honor Pat’s memory, the family suggests simply providing an act of kindness. If you’d like to donate, Pat would be honored if you gave in her memory to: Munson Hospice House; WCMU-PBS; your favorite local pet rescue; or any organization fostering a positive social impact.
