Margaret B. Sandoval
Margaret B. Sandoval

Margaret was born on May 18, 1991, in Traverse City, the daughter of Jaime Barrientoz and Mary Sandoval. She was lovingly raised by Joel Menchaca, who took her in as his own daughter and loved, supported, and cared for her throughout her life.
Maggie had a big heart and loved deeply. She was the Thelma to her sister Patricia’s Louise, and the two shared a bond that was truly special. Maggie was never one to hesitate to tell you that she loved you. Her laughter was contagious, her greetings were always authentic, and her hugs were genuine and came straight from the heart. Maggie possessed a quiet strength. She was outgoing, courageous, and fiercely protective of the people she loved. She had a way of making those around her feel loved and cared for, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Although Maggie was unable to be with her children, her love for them never wavered. They remained deeply loved in her heart.
Maggie is survived by her children, Michael Salazar, Anna Salazar, Eli Salazar, Elidia, and twins Isaac and Austin Sandoval; her father, Joel Menchaca; her grandmother, Chella Menchaca; her siblings, Patricia (Curtis White) David, Donovan Wilson, Mariah Barrientoz, Susan Johnson, and Anthony Young; special nieces, Nikkita (Charles) Anderson and Tristin Lemcool; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary, her biological father, Jaime Barrientoz, her brother, Anthony Barrientoz; her maternal grandparents, Margaret (Mike) Boyle; her paternal grandmother, Janet Barrientoz and her grandfather, Alfredo Menchaca.
Maggie’s life was marked by love, strength, laughter, and an unwavering heart for the people she loved. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely— and the memories she created with her family—will remain in their hearts forever.
