Arthur Lee Stachnik 86, passed away on September 2, 2026 at home surrounded by his family. Born March 2, 1940, in Traverse City to Franklin and Mabel Stachnik. Arthur grew up on the family farm in Leelanau County. He married Barbara Rose Muhonen on May 23, 1959. They raised four children, Carolyn “Carrie” (David) Knop, Dale Stachnik, Franklin (Cheryal) Stachnik, and Evelyn (Jonn) Fender. Arthur worked in the skilled trades as a finish drywaller for 38 years with friend and colleague Joel Richter. Arthur enjoyed deer hunting, camping and animals. He loved to feed the birds and watch them from his kitchen window along with his dog Molly. He was known to make simple bird feeder from a small bowl to feed the birds at camp. He also enjoyed going to the Cedar Tavern with his long time friends Richard (Dick) Hansen and Don Pleva.
