Mark was born in Detroit on November 14, 1954, the son of George and Mary (Traka) Baranski.

On November 3, 2007, he married Peggy Ann (Mork) Baranski, his beloved wife and partner, who survives him.

Mark dedicated his life to caring for others and improving his community through his career as a Registered Nurse and public service. Mark served in leadership roles at Munson Medical Center and the Grand Traverse Pavilions. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, Addiction Treatment Services, managed first aid for the Iceman Cometh Challenge for nearly two decades, and contributed his time and talents to many other causes and services throughout the community.

Mark is survived by his loving wife Peggy, his children, Marci Baranski (son-in-law Kevin Matthees); Matthew (Sabrina) Baranski; Stephen (Megan) Schlaefflin; Emily (Nick) Schlaefflin; his siblings, Marilynn ( Jerry) Howard, Kenneth (Tina) Baranski, and Elizabeth Baranski; and his granddaughters, Eva Matthees and Adelyn Baranski.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place and private family services have been held.
