NORTHPORT POINT – Frank Moir Lockhart, 73, of Northport Point, died on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at home. Frank was born on April 6, 1953, in Peoria, Illinois, to Dr. Jesse Cone and Dorothy “Dot” (Heidrich) Lockhart. He graduated from Pomona College with a degree in Russian Area Studies, and completed an MBA at Columbia University alongside a graduate-level certification program in Russian Studies. On June 25, 1978, in Inglewood, CA, he married Concepcion “Conchita” (Gondar) Lockhart. Together, they moved to Chicago, Illinois, and raised two children, Benjamin “Ben” and Melissa.

Frank was not interested in a long and detailed public obituary; he told his family so. His family welcomes the opportunity to hear from those who knew him and share stories of his life.

Frank is survived by his wife of 48 years, Conchita; his children, Ben and Melissa (Jeff Fortner); three siblings, Michael “Mike” (Ingrid) Lockhart, James “Jim” (Claudia) Lockhart, and Nancy Lockhart Brown; his four grandchildren; and many beloved family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Dot; his nephew, A. Travis Brown; his great-niece, Dorothy Sloan Curry-Edwards; and many treasured uncles, aunts, cousins, and dear friends. Cremation has taken place and Frank will be interred in the columbarium wall at the Atwill Memorial Chapel on Northport Point. Memorial contributions in Frank’s honor may be made to the Leelanau Conservancy or the Atwill Memorial Chapel.
