An early-autumn streak of warmth isn’t stopping the harvest of a bumper crop of apples from Leelanau orchards.
Alan Bakker, owner of Bakker’s Acres orchards in Suttons Bay Township, reports that individual apples sized better than the crop in 2022, which set records in terms of total weight in Leelanau and throughout the state.
