PESHAWBESTOWN-Dora Paul Eastman, 71, of Peshawbestown, passed away on April 23, 2024, at the MediLodge of Suttons Bay.

Dora was born on January 7, 1953, in Trenton, MI, to Filipe and Bertha (Paul) Reyes. She was a beloved member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. On July 4, 1988 she married David Eastman who preceded her in death on March 23, 2014.

Dora cherished time spent with her family and friends, especially during gatherings filled with laughter and love. She found joy in simple pleasures, like going to the casino, bowling, and hosting barbecues. An aficionado of fine food, she particularly relished dining experiences at the casino and appreciated the beauty of Northern Michigan’s summers and beaches.

Active until the very end, Dora embraced life with enthusiasm, finding happiness in being a devoted mother and grandmother. She had a fondness for her green trees… and her PT Cruiser, and she valued every moment spent enjoying her surroundings. Dora is survived by her daughter, Marlana (Neil King) Eastman; her grandchildren, Sofia King, Autumn King, Ayiana King, Selena Bishop, James Bishop Jr, Olivia Bishop, and Abigail Madden; her siblings, Maria Harper, Matilda (Louie) Ali, Phil Reyes, and Manuel Reyes; and her daughter-in-law Erin Bishop.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of twenty-five years, David Eastman; her siblings, Eligio Paul Reyes, and Hosiela Paul Reyes “Ozzy”; her children, John Bishop and Jimmy Bishop; and her granddaughter, Ember King.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 26th at the Martinson Funeral Home in Suttons Bay.
