Mary E. Liljeblad

1926 ~2024

Mary Elizabeth Liljeblad, age 97, of Flint and Leland, Michigan, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 13, 2024. A Celebration of Life took place in Flint on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Expressions of sympathy may be shared on Mary’s Tribute Wall at: detroitcremationsociety. com Mary Elizabeth Raymond was born on September 28,1926, Baltimore, Maryland. She attended Michigan State College where she met George Liljeblad in 1946. They married in 1947 and moved to Flint in 1950. Mary graduated from Flint Junior College, Licensed Practical Nursing,1960. She worked in doctors offices in Flint until she retired at age 73.

Mary and George spent many weekends and vacations at their home in Leland where they enjoyed boating on Lake Leelanau, and time with family and friends. Well into their eighties they attended MSU Spartan football and basketball games including tailgating with family and friends.

Surviving Mary are; son Brian (Denise Davidek), daughter Peggy Liljeblad, grandsons Ian and Brice and great grandson Kedree George Liljeblad. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, George I. Liljeblad.
