Meeting Minutes Synopsis For 07/13/2023
Supervisor Lautner opened the regular meeting at 7:00 P.M. with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Four Board members were present.
Ten guests were present.
The following actions were taken by the Board:
Approved the agenda with moving one item.
Approved the Regular meeting minutes of 06/08/2023 as written.
Approved the Treasurer’s report and payment of vouchers.
Approved to hire Zach Baker to survey the Solon Township Beach Park.
Adopted Resolution# 2023-07-13-01to authorize the Cedar Chamber of Commerce to close the roads from 9341 S. Kasson Street – 8801 S. Good Harbor Trail for the Polka Fest Parade to be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 12:45 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. with the approval and support of the Leelanau County Sheriff’s Department and Cedar Area Fire and Rescue Fire Chief.
Approved the Property Lease Agreement(s) with the Cedar Chamber of Commerce for the use of Tennis Courts for Movie Night(s) on July 14, August 11 and September 8, 2023 for $1.00 each.
Approved the bid from PK Contracting in the amount of $4,019.00 for crosswalks and parking pavement markings which will be paid from the Sidewalk Fund.
Adopted Resolution# 2023-07-13-02 to formally approve allowing Cedar Area Fire & Rescue to pursue the borrowing of funds from Tax-Exempt Leasing Corp for financing over a seven-year period, for the purpose of purchasing an ambulance in FY 2023/2024, for a total amount not to exceed $400,000.00. The interest rate as of
May 24, 2023 is quoted as 5.89%, but it is acknowledged that this may change prior to the authorized purchase. All funds, including the down payment and ongoing payments, for the purchase of the ambulance will come from the Cedar Area Fire & Rescue Capital Fund.
