Bridge construction over Victoria Creek
The Leelanau County Road Commission is getting ready to strengthen the bridge on County Road 651 over Victoria Creek, just north of Cedar. The project will cause delays for people coming to and from Lake Leelanau and Leland via Traverse City but will lift load restrictions on the road and allow the road commission to drive plow trucks over the bridge in the future. 03/06/2024 05:30 PM

The Old Indian Trail and surrounding area in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (SBDNL) is closed due to invasive hemlock woolly adelgid. An up and coming small company based in Leelanau County launched their first products just this past month: Quince hot sauce and quince ketchup. St. Mary School art students, under the direction of faculty member Deb Shutt, will participate in the annual Youth Art Exhibition at Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City. This juried show celebrates the work of K-12 art students and educators from throughout the Grand Traverse region. More than 35 schools will be participating in this event and the Crooked Tree Arts center will award $50-$100 cash prizes. The event runs from March 5th – April 5th.
