An ongoing property line dispute in the heart of Northport is finally resolved after village council trustees unanimously voted 4-0 to approve two new resolutions last Thursday. Salary resolutions which include a minimum 5% raise for board members were adopted this week by the Leland Township Board. Glen Lake Board of Education approved (7-0) a district school of choice policy that will have open enrollment dates from May 6-22, 2024. In a quick turn of events, Village of Northport Council is now uncertain whom it will appoint as the at-large representative on the Northport/ Leelanau Township Utilities Authority (NLTUA). At a special meeting Feb. 1, council had arrived at an unofficial consensus regarding the planned appointment of Campbell McLeod to the position. *** No raise is warranted for a township clerk whose duties have largely been reassigned to her deputy. Such was the sentiment at Tuesday’s meeting of the Kasson Township Board — the first since a Feb. 1 special meeting during which duties of Clerk Traci Cruz were reassigned to her deputy.
