The Village of Northport gave the green light last week to start the hiring process to fill two new positions among its staff. The community of Cedar is still reeling from a violent assault last week in which one family member attacked her own kin. Bailey K. Rosinski, 25, and her accomplice, Justin Bembeneck, 33, are held on $1 million bond, accused of multiple felonies including attempted murder. According to the criminal complaint, Rosinski and Bembeneck entered the home of Francis and Helen Rosinski just before 8 p.m. Thursday. Law enforcement officials allege in search of money for drugs. *** The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians is continuing to expand its economic development efforts beyond casino gaming and this week announced its acquisition of a steel fabrication firm in Charlevoix. The firm, Bay Shore Steel Works, is described in a tribal news release as a “fullservice component manufacturer and finisher with the capability to process components from raw plate to painted weldment or assembly.” 01/17/2024 04:38 PM
