Specific locations for two new historical and cultural markers conveying Anishinaabe histories and teachings were approved to be installed in late May or June by Leelanau Township at its regular board meeting this month. Leelanau County’s current administrator, Deb Allen, is set to set down in about two weeks on April 12, leaving the county without its most important nonelected official until a new administrator/ chief financial officer (CFO) is hired. Leelanau Township approves 2024-25 budget
Leelanau Township unanimously approved its 2024-25 recommended budget of $851,940, as well as four township officer salary resolutions on Monday. Emergency Services fund revenues come in at $1,843,212, which makes up 59% of the revenue allocation, while the general fund revenue makes up 19%.
