NATO should have accepted Ukraine
NATO should have accepted Ukraine
To the editor: If NATO would have accepted Ukraine into the organization before the beginning of the Russian invasions or even after, the war would be short-lived. A loan to Ukraine could have been made in good faith by all of NATO, instead of money and lives spent fighting. 02/28/2024 04:44 PM
Abandonment and appeasement
Abandonment and appeasement
To the editor: Abandonment and appeasement are words never associated with our nation. Trump, supported by his followers, recently stated that he would abandon Ukraine and our NATO allies to appease Putin. 02/28/2024 04:44 PM

Patiently awaiting spring’s arrival
We’re less than a month away from the start of spring on March 19 and less than two weeks away from changing our clocks once again (which I’m still not used to) for daylight saving time — and I could not be more ready for it. And besides, I think it’s about that time of year when people get restless for the next season. 02/28/2024 04:44 PM
Response to February 1 letter
Response to February 1 letter
To the editor: An author of a recent letter seems sincere in not knowing why President Biden holds historically low support from Americans. She mentions reasons for Biden support, including providing “student debt relief” to 3.7 million people, which of course is paid for by the 130 million working adults. 02/28/2024 04:44 PM

Identity theft surrounds us
To the editor: Wow! I attended a BOC meeting on 02/13/24. It was a packed house. 02/28/2024 04:44 PM

Generation gap is profound in politics
With all due respects to the middle-aged folks reading this column, if you really want to have some fun, take a dive into the latest polling data on the extreme ends of the age spectrum i.e. young voters vs. older voters. 02/28/2024 04:44 PM
World needs to come together
World needs to come together
To the editor: Change is hard! I am astounded by the changes in my lifetime. Who would have thought encyclopedias would go by the wayside and we would type in random questions to a computer to learn all kinds of things, some true, some not. 02/21/2024 04:57 PM
Electric edict
Electric edict
To the editor: Recent news indicates that Governor Whitmer has passed her edict requiring only electric cars in the near future. That’s an excellent way to clear the atmosphere, but I would go along with it only if she gets another bill passed requiring all aircraft taking off or landing on Michigan soil to have electric engines. 02/21/2024 04:57 PM
He’ll never say…
He’ll never say…
To the editor: Yes, Biden will forget Jill’s birthday, but he’ll remember that the wealth of the top 1% of our country’s citizens is greater than the lower 90%. He’ll forget the date Apollo 11 landed on the moon, but he’ll remember that one nation is not allowed to take over another by force or else the doors to naked aggression will be thrown open and those of peaceful world order will be closed. 02/21/2024 04:57 PM
On immigration
On immigration
To the editor: OK, let me speak to the truth and confront the ignorance of the foreign owned Fox “news” network. I have significant knowledge of this issue as my brother, who passed away Memorial Day, was from the beginning of the 1980s to the year 2000 and Director of the Department of Immigration Litigation in the Civil Division of the Department of Justice. 02/21/2024 04:57 PM
Your call
Your call
To the editor: Representative Bergman, I know my memos go into your “dead” file but as a constituent, I need to post one again. Congress has taken a two week recess and when it returns, it has only 3 days before a potential government shutdown. 02/21/2024 04:57 PM
National debt unsustainable
National debt unsustainable
To the editor: What happens to a country who’s government does not embrace its immigration law? Illegal entry to a country is intrusion and insults those who have come to America legally. People are coming from many places to escape corruption and wrong treatment and some to purposely do harm. 02/21/2024 04:57 PM
